Re: luke, wren, evie & jack GTFO of silent hill
[Okay.
There were no words. None since the children were gone, dead, eaten. She'd seen it. It didn't make sense, since they'd been left behind. But non, they had been up ahead, and her maman had them. Her distorted face and bloody white, nurse dressed up for some client, and Lia's face was gone, and Gus was arms and limbs and twisting intestines on the floor at her maman's feet, and she'd gotten it wrong again.
So, there were no words. She barely blinked. Wide-eyes, and she thought if she went along, quiet and still for long enough, she would turn into something that wasn't real anymore. Maybe, and that would be better, and she thought dolls didn't feel things. Not when when they were cast aside, undressed, shorn down and thrown away. Melted, ball joints collecting at the bottom of some furnace where unwanted things were melted down to become wanted things. Her maman had always said she was pretty enough to be a doll, and the men that came with warm laps and strong arms, they said so too. Pretty as a picture and the ribbons in her hair, and she hadn't felt anything then either.
Step, step, step, and she didn't hear a thing. She didn't know Evie was talking to someone. She didn't know Luke was seeing someone. She was unseeing.
Okay.
Luke pulled more and more, and her ball-joints didn't even creak when she moved faster. Dragged, and her ears didn't hear the bang of guns. She was plastic, and she was metal frame, and she couldn't hear anything. Blank, blank, blank.
And there was a smile on her face once Evie came into view. It was a harmless smile, all mild weather and Spring days. No feeling behind it, and her eyes were even wider. Less blink, blink, and everything was better that way.
She stopped at the door as it opened. She didn't even understand it was a door. Like a puppet on a string, she went.
