Thomas had never been very good at polish. Unlike Bruce Wayne or the people that populated this masked world, he was fairly terrible at sustaining two identities. He could manage two conversations at once, but he was himself in both of them, and that was inescapable. It was one of his better qualities, in the end. It was a certain kind of honesty, and Thomas valued honesty. When he wore a mask, it was not so he could act or feel differently. He hoped it was the same with the heroes in the tower, and suspected it was.
"What sort," Thomas repeated, attempting to quantify as he folded his arms and sat slightly back in his chair. The deli continued to whirl with (what appeared to be) its usual busy lunch crowd around him. "Every day sorts of threats. Murder, mostly. Sometimes on a large scale. This threat is more specific. One man. Large destruction. I am sure you are familiar with that sort of threat." He smiled at her; for the first time, it was not a nice smile.
He nodded. "I want to know what the heroes in the tower are doing yes. And I think... you are most in the position to know, without anyone being hurt or offended, or even aware of my interference." He corrected. "Potential interference. Innocent people should not be hurt." He was very firm on this last point. "Including you."
