Re: Hallway: Hels & Gwen
[He kills me. Three little words that made the corners of Helena's eyes tighten up, and her lips stretch a little more across her teeth. She's had a protective streak that was core deep, even when it came to someone like Bruce - someone she loved and was angry at in equal measures - but she wasn't angry at Gwen. And maybe, maybe that was enough for her to rethink her idea on making a little visit to Harry.] Sometimes, intuition is all you have. If you never leap, you never fall, but you never fly either.
[The tension smoothed out as she turned to face Gwen, her opposite cheek on the wall, and gave her a small smile.] You kind of are. [But her voice was fond and she reached out to pat her friend lightly on the cheek.] But so can I and you stuck with me through it. If you're only with someone when they're fun, then you suck, and not in a kind of way.
[She sighed and closed her eyes briefly. There was the frumpy couch that she and Jo had sat on, a stack of movies. Lumps in the couch cushions, blanket over the back, an alarming creak whenever they moved, but it had been comfortable while the movies played.] There's a Charles that is. [Her eyes opened again.] And I didn't mean a psychiatrist for the medication, not yet, but they can be an unbiased person to talk to.
[Her gaze went distant. If this were her friend, where would she look? Where would she go?] If this is a serum he's been working on for a while, he probably would have kept it close, not far. Someplace close, easy to access. By nature, people keep their secrets where they're most easily controlled. And if not under their control - somewhere close. [A nod.] If it were me, that's where I'd look. I hope you can make him less green.
