Quicklog: Holly and Dick at the Cottage
[Dick spent more time than he should have at the cottage. Living at the manor almost full time lately, seemed better and closer to home for all the time he had Lucy. And all the time Babs decided to stay too. There was some safety there, whether they admitted it or not. There was help. There were familiar sights and sounds.
Dick was most comfortable there (whether he admitted it or not), and he thought it might make Daisy more comfortable.
And what baby, no matter how small, didn't like zebras? So out he walked, across the property, baby bundled in winter clothes, his warm coat and gloves on him, and Lucy in a sling - a ridiculous bright neon green sling. Ridiculous, but it kept her warm against his chest as he walked out to the newly built zebra enclosure, complete with heat and comfort any zebra would like.
Before checking on the animals he walked into the cottage, noticing that the door was unlocked first off. He wasn't worried, he doubted he was the only one who was drawn to this place from time to time. He liked to bring Lucy with him, it was less lonely. And while he didn't like imagining what could be happening if his brother were still here, the fun they'd have with this ridiculous child of his, it was still good to be there.]
