Re: Silent Hill: Wren/Evie/Luke/Jack
[Evie was involved in a staring contest with whatever was coming toward her when Jack grabbed her hand and started running. It startled her and the glass shard she'd been clutching until her hand bled hit the ground with a shatter and she was still looking over her shoulder even while she started to run when Jack did.
And she ran, and she looked behind her, and she sped up and she tried to leave the cruel laughter behind her. But as she did in her own life, in her own door, in her own dreams and her own reality she stumbled running forward and away because she kept looking behind her. She supposed had her mind been clearer she'd have found the entire situation obvious. But she didn't. Even if she got it, she didn't care.
Wren ran off then. And Evie took the opportunity to dig her heels into the ground and drag both her and Jack to a punishing stop. But she didn't let go of Jack's hand, not even as she picked up a rock and threw it as hard as she could in the direction of what looked like nothing. And she hollered as she threw rock after rock with her free hand, the hand holding onto Jack's in a punishing grip slippery with blood but that was something real she supposed. She hollered again, where Wren was calm and trusting, Evie was mad, maybe a little crazy mad, but mostly angry mad. She yelled words, clearly not at Jack, but in the direction of a cruel laugh that hung in the air, deep and cruelly amused. It wasn't attached to a body, or a person, at least not to anyone but Evie.
The voice said they were going to be stuck there, and Evie responded loudly in defiance.] The worst version of me stuck here with the worst version of you? [ Her voice cracked, she'd been yelling too long. And fighting too long already.]
