Re: log, marvel: pizza party at harry's
Complicated? [She noticed the lack of blush too, and she couldn't decide if that was good or bad. But, she hid it well enough, all smiles and blue eyes moving over stippled skin. There was true concern there too—concern that was replaced by another look of surprise at Gwen, as the girl came clicking down the stairs, blonde, also nerdy-cute, in a pink shirt and boots. Her face looked fresh and dewy.
MJ peeled back from Peter, without haste and without guilt, her fingers falling to her side as she moved toward the other girl. She smiled—because, okay, maybe she was a narcissist, but she was expecting something of a warm welcome here. These people were her friends. But, that grin dropped, same as the others, when Gwen took the pizza and started to wander away with nothing but a 'hey, MJ.'] Hey, Gwendy. [MJ waved, a gesture that felt distant, as footsteps came up the steps to the front door. She moved to get out of the way, stepping sideways and pushing into Peter with her shoulder.
She shook her head at him in a splay of copper, making her voice low—not because it was a secret, but because Gwen was over there, looking at the door like it was salvation and she didn't want to interrupt.] You know I'm going to make you tell me what happened, tiger. Save me the effort of torturing you. [She jabbed a finger into his side and smiled at him.
It was weird—the cold tension between Gwen and Peter, when MJ was used to them being sweet little bunnies together, nerding out about molecules. But she decided to play nice and not mention it.
She didn't lean into her best friend, but she did settle her weight to one side, her hip jutting out as the door opened.]
