Re: osborn estate: gwen & pete
How is that unfair? I take great pride in making you laugh. [Pause, pause, and Pete scrambled to recover a little too late.] I mean, making people laugh. You. And people. [He waved a hand and groaned inwardly as he tried to play off the awkwardness he still hadn't lost. He was an adult, geez. A college boy. He should've been a lot smoother than this.] Don't insult my Rodrigo. He might make a comeback someday. [She was quick in avoiding his swat, but he didn't think much of it.
But her catching his finger was a little much. He pulled a face and tugged.] You're not in the way, Gwen. I'm-- [Oh, god, time to make an idiot of himself. Go time, Peter.] I'm glad you're alive. Like, really glad. I don't want you to die or go away so MJ and I can get together. I get that it seemed like that with the other Peters, but-- I know it's different, you've got a new boyfriend, I'm just saying-- [More hand-gesturing, because who needed verbal communications? What were words?] Anyway. Yeah. And I'm still apologizing, even if you don't accept it. So there... there. [Wow. His maturity was off the charts.
Okay, Pete wasn't expecting her to react to him questioning her sex life by laughing. He looked puzzled, utterly confused, but her laughter was catching and he couldn't help smiling.] What's so funny? [His smile grew and grew, until he let out a chuckle himself. Laughing wasn't a bad thing. And maybe, maybe, he brightened just a little when Gwen said she'd stay. Just a tiny bit.] Okay. Cool. I mean, it's not cool, but-- you know. [He followed her into the basement, thinking that she looked cute when she blushed, but then Peter tried to focus on the task at hand. Right. Take his blood, then the green stuff, then get out. Piece of cake.]
Alright. I'm on it. [At least Harry was still out. And he was fast when he needed to be.]
