Re: osborn estate: gwen & pete
[She held up two taunting fingers and wiggled them in his face when he claimed not to be messy.] Second at Midtown, Rodrigo Guevara. [Her memory was really good.]
You weren't a jerk, Pete. You're going to get annoyed at me, but it was supposed to happen that way. You and Mary Jane are supposed to be together, so falling for her was cool. It was just sooner than it was supposed to be, but I messed up the cosmic timeline by being alive. You guys are made to be all about each other. The rest of us, we die. Me, Harry. Flash lives, but he loses his legs and ends up in a chair. It's not our story. Falling for her is never something you need to apologize for. [She had to laugh when he like pledged the flag, and she reached for his other hand and lifted it until he was saluting. More touching than she intended, but it made her laugh anyway, and life wasn't about laughing very much right now.
Then his hand dropped to her shoulder, and he said she would make a great mom, and she blinked tears out of cornflower blue.] Someday. But not like this. [And none of it changed the fact that Harry was going to lose his mind, and the secret was getting out of her hands, sifting through her fingers like sand.]
I stopped- with Harry months ago, when he got aggressive with me the last time, and I haven't slept with Jason yet. [She said it too fast, like she was trying to correct an opinion. Which, really smooth, Stacy, and Harry was way easier to concentrate on.] I can get you the syringes, and I have something that will keep him kind of cool when he comes to. It won't fix him, but it'll make him saner, kind of. [Because Harry would wake up eventually, and that wasn't going to be pretty. She stopped at the top of the stairs.] But we should keep him locked up for now. I didn't tell Ms. Carter or the Avengers where he was. Did you?
