Re: osborn estate: gwen & pete
[She'd been through a succession of Peters, and her normal wariness was worn down by Mary Jane's death. She'd never gotten along with the redhead, and they'd been at each other's throats since high school, but she'd never thought Mary Jane would die. Logic dictated that anyone could die, and previous experience with those Peters made it obvious that anyone could disappear, but Mary Jane, Flash and Harry, they'd always been there. She knew it was shock that made her less guarded, but she wasn't overly concerned. Mary Jane was dead.
Mary Jane wasn't supposed to be dead. She was supposed to be dead.
But the smile came back, small, but there when he grinned.] I figure someone should support the guy. [Said of her shirt, and joking with him was too easy. Even now, and maybe that was messed up, but everything was messed up.
She almost told him she didn't need ice. She almost opted for full disclosure about her abilities and what she'd been up to, but she didn't. There wasn't anything logical to that, either, and apparently it was a night for not thinking things through fully.] Okay. Follow me.
[She glanced toward the panic room door, and then she led the way up the stairs to the servant kitchen. It was in the back of the Estate, and they could hear any sounds from the basement if they kept the door open at the top of the steps. She didn't stop until her hand was on the freezer door, which she tugged open.] Since I got here, people have been informing me of all the reasons I shouldn't trust Harry. I never listened. [She pulled out the ice tray, and she set it on the counter.]
I'm sorry. [She looked over at him.] About Mary Jane.
