Re: osborn estate: gwen & pete
[It had been years. Plural, Pete reminded himself, and logically her smile shouldn't have made his stomach do backflips and somersaults like it had in high school. But it did anyway, despite everything, and he was sorry to see it go. Right, yeah, the bruising probably looked bad. It'd heal fast, and he'd been through worse, but he figured neither of things would make a difference if he pointed them out.
Like how he'd still worry, even if she told him the bruise on her neck was no big deal.
He grinned when she tugged on her shirt.] Underdog vigilantes, huh? I bet they appreciate the support. [It was totally stupid, but when she pointed out the brought a hand to his face, almost sheepish, and shrugged.] Yeah. Okay. Only if you put some ice on yours, too.
[She asked about Harry, then, and he looked down at his feet.] He's okay. Still unconscious. [But her calling herself stupid had him looking right back up, and Pete shook his head.] Hey. You're not stupid, Gwen. You care about him. That's not a crime. I-- I'm just glad you're okay.
