Re: Batcave: Cat & Bat
Her certainty in her ability to get her paws on his money made Bruce smile, but he didn't laugh. She was a very good thief, that he couldn't deny. Her skills were rarely challenged. But he didn't think she would rob him blind, even though she could. Some might call him naive, too trusting, even stupid, but if he couldn't trust Selina then he couldn't trust anyone. If she could betray him, then anyone could. His friend, his family. He'd come a long way from distrust and suspicion, but it was too late to backtrack. He couldn't change how he felt, even if he'd wanted to.
And ah, there it was. "Not everyone, but close to it," he said. Honesty, instead of attempting to soften the blow. "I'm not concerned with what they think, Selina. They don't have to trust you. That's their choice." He tipped his head to the side. "Mine is to trust you. Do you trust me?"
The comparison made him wave a hand dismissively. "Entirely different circumstances." Zatanna seemed friendly enough, but Bruce had no romantic inclinations toward her whatsoever. He smiled when she told him to bring her something to make her 'feel better'. "Of course." As for her kicking the dog out of bed, he simply gave her a knowing look that said he didn't believe her claim for a second. "Get some rest, Ms. Kyle."
