Re: Batcave: Cat & Bat
Bruce knew, for the most part, that he was predictable. He tried to stay one step of his enemies in every regard, but there were some things about him that never changed. If Selina hadn't liked it, if she'd found it boring, then he doubted she'd be here. And yes, he was just fine with waiting-- for her sake, if nothing else. Based on his recent conversations with Eddie, he wasn't sure if he was still up for getting involved with the mobs, especially if he was looking to get out of Gotham.
"You would be entirely justified in leaving me at the altar if I implied that you were only interested in my money." It was light, humorous, but he sobered a few seconds later. "I wouldn't ask you for a prenup, Selina. I would never marry someone I didn't trust. I trust you." It was more honesty than he'd shown in a while, especially since he often tried to avoid the subject of marriage and children with her. He worried, often, that he couldn't give her what she wanted, and he still grappled with whether or not he was good for her. As for Zatanna, he really didn't understand Selina's irritation. Iris, he understood, because they were friends. They knew each other. But Zatanna? She'd known a different Bruce. "If she is the old flame, Ms. Kyle, she isn't mine. She didn't exist in my world." Simple. Matter of fact. Logical.
Her concession to a nap was a start. "Good." He looked at her for a long, long moment before he relented. "Alright. I won't insist on going with you."
