Re: Batcave: Cat & Bat
"I did say try," he pointed out mildly. Of course he knew that telling Selina not do to something was a sure way to ensure that she did the exact opposite. Had it truly bothered him, Bruce would have tried a different approach. And maybe he hadn't always been consistent himself either-- after all, there was a time when he'd gone so far as to leave Gotham-- but here, now, he cared. He couldn't ignore the Families and the problems they posed. He wouldn't. Not them, not Ivy, not any one of his enemies who dared show their faces. "We'll wait," he agreed. She was in no condition to be making decisions, that was true, and they should probably be talking about this when there wasn't poison coursing through her veins. The hallucinations only concerned him further.
Her answer about the prenup didn't surprise him. "Do you think I would make you sign one?" As for Iris, he had to pause and think. He hadn't been paying attention to much of anything at the service, much less anyone. "Fine, I suppose," he said with a slight shrug. But her mention of his old flame turned his expression into one of puzzlement, and it didn't click until she brought up fishnets and he put two and two together. "Zatanna? She's not an old flame. I barely know her. But yes, she stopped by." Bruce had no reason to lie about that.
It was that yet that he didn't like. She wasn't that bad, yet. He watched from his peripheral vision as she stood, noting the way she walked, and he turned to look up at her. She'd be around? "Selina." He reached to cover her hand with his. "You should stay here until I've found an antidote."
