Re: Batcave: Cat & Bat
Bruce couldn't recall ever being called a boyscout. Things along that line, yes, remarking upon his morality and his consistent efforts to save a city most people no longer believed was worth saving, though he'd been taunted as being the exact opposite by his enemies as well. But he'd made her smile, at least, and that felt like an accomplishment. "I feel too old to be a boyscout," he remarked. Was he tactical? Shrewd, even? Yes. But he wouldn't consider himself a con man.
The last thing he wanted to talk about was the mobs. Oh, he knew they needed to. The Families were a problem that wouldn't disappear overnight. They did need to be dealt with. "Should we?" He gave her a sidelong glance. "Do you still want to take them down from the inside?" He hadn't forgotten.
With some people, he could stall without being detected. But with people like Selina and Alfred, who knew him too well, could see right through him. "Now, adorable, that's not something I hear very often in reference to myself." Bruce said nothing of his failed attempt to stall her. With the blood sample in hand, he moved the chair (one with wheels, how useful) to begin his tests, but it wasn't a dismissal. "I have no idea either," he admitted. "Unless we eloped. Did it quick. I can just imagine how upset Alfred would be if we deprived him of a proper wedding, though."
