Re: Quicklog, Marvel: Louis D/Cris M
[Louis said nothing. He could say nothing. He could have fought harder, knocked his head back or tried to twist his way free again, but he didn't. He heard what Cris shouted into his ear (what he had already suspected but had no evidence for) and didn't Cris have a wife? But that was unimportant now.
Sam didn't need him here. No one needed him here. Once again something had happened to Sam directly under his nose while he'd been preoccupied with his own problems and he had been utterly useless. And Micah - even thinking about him arranging a meeting with Sam by threatening him made him want to go hunt him down, once and for all. Through the numbness came frustration, and rage, very real indeed.
Then there was Neil on the other side of the door. Louis had his face pressed against the ground, and said nothing at all, only his eyes sliding up to look at it. What a wonderful reunion this was going to be. Then he realized there had been no sound of Sam's voice, and felt the dread seeping in.
Finally:] Let him in. [Not much of an order flattened against the ground, but nothing more could happen until they knew if Sam was standing outside or not.]
