Re: Log: Kevin and Wanda
[Kevin was great at superficial. Keeping everyone smiling, never too glum, get over yourself attitude, all of that was built upon superficiality. A superficiality that covered a man who deeply cared to make everyone happy and to keep smiling to fulfill a promise to his mother, but it still struck one as superficial. He had some rules for himself to keep people from getting too hurt from his superficiality, like no sex without love, but making people confront their own deaths and then work for him was a strange job. The only people who'd been with him long enough to really get him were Heather, Blink, and Talia, and even this Talia had been from a significantly earlier time. She hadn't known what he would be, but as long as he didn't act differently, all was well.
Harder here in this world, though. It was boring. He had a normal job. Xavier's wasn't even a school, it was just Xavier's house. Going from one extreme to the other had been fun at first, but he was starting to worry more about the multiverse, about the Crystal Palace, and about fixing this hotel business. It shouldn't exist, and it was his job to stop it.
That wasn't superficial. That idea went deep. He just didn't have a damn clue where to start, so he smiled and tried not to worry about it.]
We'll have some karaoke. It'll be fun. Even if you can't sing, I'll just sing over you. [He joked easily, offering the woman a hug without commentary.] Oh, another year older, but maybe I'll be immortal if I can keep myself together. [Grin, with eyebrows raised.]
