Re: Marvel: Rescuing the tiniest Alexander
[Sam pressed her forehead to the arm of the abandoned chair, and she wondered why life couldn't just chill the fuck out for like five minutes. She stood from her crouch, but Joey was staggering around, and he was different than she remembered, yeah? She had a child's view of Joey at this age. Joey was a fucking teenager by the time she was old enough to even talk right, and she always saw him as fun or whatever. She barely remembered Shane before he went, and the faces leading up to Joey were all the same kind of fucking blur. And even Tessy left when Sam was just a kid, but she remembered Joey, who always made sure she got a bowl of cereal before pops drank away the food stamps.
She stood, sure, but then she just sat her ass right back down in the chair Joey's ass discarded. She was used to life under bridges lately. Nothing down here was any scarier than the shit out there. Evil talked good and wrote in journals and married her fucking sister. These punks down here, they were nothing to worry over.
She looked over at Shane. And, yeah, it was just like her to expect her big brother to fix everything, but no fucking way she was going to manage it before Joey caught himself on fire.]
