Re: In-person: Selina/Tony & Rosalind
[Tony knew that this was supposed to be some kind of farewell, the bird in place of the man, but he couldn't get on board. The bird wasn't the man. There was no body so there was no funeral and there wasn't even proof that he was really gone, just a big Bruce-shaped hole in the universe where the man used to be. Tony didn't even like admitting that it could be like death, even though it was less final and more disturbing, since they might get a new one in ten minutes and what he would be like, there was no knowing. He was getting tired of that theme. It made him feel lonely, and there was only so many robots he could build before they all started bleeding together in molten alloys that meant next to nothing. Maybe he'd make himself a solid army of better friends that would never leave.
Tony shook his head to himself as the bird made its entrance and exit in a brief flutter of wings that was completely without fanfare. He watched it go, mouth slack, eyes troubled. He suggested:] We could get drunk now.
