Luke Henry is cursed to live for (aneternity) wrote in rooms,
One day, Luke hoped that he could put everything that happened with Thomas far enough behind him that it would be a scar, healed and near forgotten. But right now it was still fresh, still raw, and he was trying to work past that. He hadn't tried, before, he'd just let it fester, but life was different now. It was better, and he wanted to move forward instead of constantly dwelling on what he'd left behind. "You have a point," he admitted. Five didn't talk back, five didn't call Thomas out on his mistakes. "It doesn't take much to win Gus over right now. Me, it's a little harder." He smiled to show that he knew it was an understatement; he was too old to be won over. If he was going to make an effort, he wanted Thomas to make one too.
As well as Gus and his grandfather might have gotten along, though, Luke was still wary about letting his son spend too much time with him. "Yeah, she reminds me of Amanda. No one will ever walk all over them." He shrugged. "Maybe she did, but it just... stayed hidden. People don't always realize what they're capable of."
