Re: Manor: Bruce & Selina
"So, you'll ask," she said of Eddie's little hiding spot. "I have to go to Marvel for a few days, but I shouldn't be gone long," she assured him. "I'm giving Jason a key to my place there. He sounded like he could use some time away." She almost said she was worried about the little reincarnated bird, but she kept it to herself. No need to worry him, not yet.
She didn't want to worry about Helena either, and she didn't chase anything he said. It was a problem, but Selina didn't have a solution. And after things had gone so badly with Damian? She wasn't very inclined to do anything but avoid the little bird in question. As much as she loved this bed and these arms, she wouldn't let herself get comfortable, wouldn't let herself linger beyond the evening. Whatever anyone else believed, she believed Helena would come see her father eventually. And the kitty cat intended to not be around when it happened.
And even if the conversation was about Iris, she was glad to hear that laughter. She'd been so worried at the outset of the evening, even if admitting it wasn't part of the plan. But she had been, and laughter about anything at all was nice to hear. She just pressed another kiss to his jaw, and there was a smile in her voice when she spoke. "Goodnight, Mr. Wayne."
