Re: Manor: Bruce & Selina
She still felt unbelievably certain that what separated this Bruce from the others, besides the multitude of little bats and birds, was the girl. Loving someone, that was powerful, and it had been strong enough that he'd locked himself away from the world for years when that woman died. She didn't think for a moment he'd do that for her, and that was telling, wasn't it? It set him apart, that difference. She was glad it did, as much as she hated the memory of the boring little lawyer. Some days, she feared the lawyer would come back. Some days, she feared Iris would show up at the door. But obsessing wouldn't change those things. Oh, she was good at obsessing, but she was learning that fear? Fear just made this fall to shards.
There was surprise in the mossy depths of her eyes when kissed her; she didn't have time to pull away, and there wasn't even really time to kiss him back before he spoke again. "We're both impossible bastards," she agreed with a soft smile when he said the puppy was a nice touch. She kissed him this time, slow and warm, and just that, no intention for anything more. Intimacy, it was scarier than sex; it was much scarier than sex, but she wasn't going anywhere, even if she was perpetually on the edge of being scared of hurt. But she stayed, warm and closer and her eyes closing as she sighed.
She grinned, her fingers sliding beneath his shirt, against warmth and skin with a sound of sleepy contentment. "I like this Alfred. Annoying him just makes the useless little puppy a better choice."
