Re: Manor: Bruce & Selina
He didn't expect her to agree with him. He didn't expect anyone to, not unless it was done out of anger. Bruce had made his fair share of decisions that led to consequences which were his fault, but no one would hold him accountable for this, not when he'd tried, not when they knew he'd wanted to bring Damian back alive. If she had agreed with him it would be another blow, fuel to the fire. "Didn't I?" He felt the kiss she pressed between his shoulders through his shirt and leaned back a little, just a little. "I don't understand," he admitted. Just like Holly, he didn't understand. "We were all angry, but we loved him. We tried to bring him back." He dragged in a deep, shuddering breath. "I said horrible things, cruel things, but I didn't mean-- I was just trying to--" He broke off and shook his head.
Last time, he hadn't wanted anyone to touch him. He'd lashed out, anger and violence, but there had been too much of it over the past few weeks, too much, and all in his name. Bruce didn't want any more of it. His fingers closed around her wrist like a tether, and her fingers rubbing over his back made him feel young again, like a child, but it was soothing all the same. "Another chance," he repeated. "Do you think he went home?"
The puppy's brave dismount was heard rather than seen, and Bruce opened his eyes when he felt warm weight on his feet. "He likes attention."
