Re: Manor: Bruce & Selina
She was starting to curse the useless little dog and its refusal to do anything but act like it wanted a hug. Not very useful, but she couldn't exactly go kick it and make it yelp. Anyway, violence to animals wasn't her thing, even when the animal in question was currently thwarting her attempts at hiding behind something small and adorable. Words weren't her strong suit. She got them wrong often, and she got them wrong even more often when she was trying not to. This? This was the ultimate example of the latter, and the puppy wasn't doing its part to avoid another failure like the one on the rooftop from all those months ago.
Lost in thought, she stopped paying attention to the window for a few seconds. She looked up, and Bruce was no longer standing there, and that left her with a few options; she didn't like any of them.
With a groan, she crouched. The grass was getting cold and crunchy with night, and she was going to have to go collect the sad puppy in a moment. But she gave herself a second, fingers rubbing at her mossy green eyes as she tried to think of next steps that didn't involve abandoning this entirely and doing something useful, like stealing something.
She was staring at nothing, her unseeing gaze in the direction of the ball of fluff in the distance, and it was the sound of footsteps on the cold grass that drew her back from thoughts of mobs and fights on rooftops.
The puppy had already noticed the newcomer. It bound toward Bruce, small hops to get over the icy blades of grass, and she didn't stand immediately. She just watched for a second as the stupid little dog's tongue lolled out of the side of its mouth happily. Stupid little dog; it would take him forever to get across the vast yard at that rate.
The tiny dog seemed to realize that at about the same time that Selina noticed how Bruce was dressed. With a sigh, she stood from her crouch, just as the puppy sat back on its haunches sadly and tried for a howl. Said howl came out sounding like a pathetic cry. This dog? Was so useless.
