Re: Manor: Bruce & Selina
An animal on the grounds wasn't necessarily worth investigating. Unless it was an intruder Bruce wasn't in much of a mood to be bothered, and it was mostly curiosity that caused him to open the window in the first place. But then the solid shadow stilled, no more movement, and he looked out into the night a little while longer before shaking his head. His mind was playing tricks on him, that was all. Ridiculous. He was about to pull the window closed with a frown when the red light caught his eye, and he paused.
That he hadn't imagined.
A second later, and he was sure the yap that sounded in the darkness wasn't a figment of his imagination either. The solid shadow moved again, a flop in the grass, and it was definitely an animal. A dog, he'd guess, and a small one. Martha was too identifiable with her white fur, not to mention the fact that cats didn't yelp, and Stephanie's pets were larger. Coupled with the unlikeliness of a puppy wandering onto the grounds and the fact that the red light had to come from somewhere, he was fairly sure this was intentional. Part of him wanted to close the window and ignore it, Alfred could deal with the puppy or whoever had brought it here could bring it right back.
But it was getting cold, and it was dark. And there were zebras.
With a sigh, Bruce moved away from the window and, carefully, left his room to make his way downstairs. A few minutes passed before he was making his way across the grass, socked feet and short sleeves despite the drop in temperature.
