[He thought it was sweet, that she still worried about corrupting him after all this time. Unnecessary, yeah, but still sweet.] Oui. [His expression turned fond, adoration in his gaze.] I love that you trust me. I trust you, too. [It was a heady thing, trust, for two people who'd learned to be distrustful in different ways. He wanted things with her he'd never want with anyone else, and he'd let her do things that, if anyone else even tried, he'd probably kill them for. When she brought up him owing her a skirt, he couldn't help but laugh.] You're right, baby, I do. Find somewhere. After Christmas.
[Even though she usually won their games, he still liked playing them. And, maybe, he had hope that one day he could win. She was calm, just a smile and not much of a reaction at all, but he was just getting started. They weren't alone in the store, but he didn't care about that either. He followed her to the aisle with the lights, and he pretended to consider her question of clear vs colors, even though he really didn't care.]
I don't know. [He came up behind her, a press of his body against her back and his voice low in her ear.] I think I like colors better. [His fingers brushed over her thigh and he nipped at her earlobe before stepping back, putting a little space between them. Breathing room, really.] What do you think?
