Re: Park: Cris M & Luke H
[Cris smiled when the kid in the swing snatched at the topic of birds with gusto. His free hand slipped into the pocket of his coat and he moved to lean one shoulder against the metal piping of the swingset, so he could look on, at both the boy he was speaking with and the kids chattering now about cats and dogs and birds. The Ark would be brought up soon, Cris was sure of it.
He laughed quietly, unhurried in the caught-amber of the moment.] You mean he loves animals more than he loves most people or he loves animals more than most people love animals? [He flashed a grin again.] Two, huh? Ay, brother. [But there was some surprise, kept off of his face, at the question: 'is she your only one?,' as it called into question the assumption that the boy was the child's brother. Hermanos didn't ask with the word 'your,' it implied reflection.
Cris nodded, eyes drawn to Teresa then back.] Yeah, only one bird. [He and Elena had talked about having another. But, of course, that was before they split.] One and five though. So she's got him to look out for her. That's good.
