Re: Park: Cris M & Luke H
[Rewind a couple years, and Gus had been the shyest kid on the planet. The arrival of another kid, a talkative one at that, would have sent him scrambling to hide behind his father with his fingers in his mouth. But time had passed, and little by little he'd come out of his shell. Luke was pretty proud of the progress they'd made, all things considered. He watched with a smile as the little girl hopped up on the other empty swing and cheerfully chattered away, and Gus, after studying the newcomer, managed to chime in about swinging and pretending to fly. He'd always be quiet, but he was getting better at socializing.
He noticed the man the girl had come with--her father, he assumed--and he didn't think he'd really care about Finch. Sure, Luke knew dogs were supposed to be leashed, but he'd never had any trouble with it. Maybe, as a cop, he should have cared a little more. He'd never been entirely on the straight and narrow, though, never been one to follow every single rule right down to the letter. Finch had been inside a lot, with him working and Wren working, and okay, he felt bad. Hence, no leash.] Yeah. [He looked away from the kids, over at the man, and stood. Whereas Gus was bundled warmly, hat and gloves and boots with his coat, Luke was just wearing a jacket. He didn't mind the cold that much.] He's well trained, don't worry. He won't move.
