Re: Outside Gotham; Selina and "Em"
[Death knew that the pain was there behind Selina's eyes. She'd seen the damage as it'd happened, seen it as Selina did her best to heal (without asking for too much in the way of help, and maybe that made her roll her eyes just a little, but she hadn't interfered in that choice). She wasn't the one to show up (most of the time) when someone was nursing injuries, not wanting to scare anyone needlessly. But Selina was well on the mend, so she didn't think that appearing now would cause any sort of unneeded stress. She saw the close study, the focus of green on her, and only smiled - a calm thing, hopefully reassuring. No one had died - at least no one here, and no one that Selina knew. There wasn't anything happening that she thought would fall under the heading of very bad things.
The spread of Selina's grin earned a widening of her own smile and a hand pressed flat to the front of her body, along the arch of her ribs just before the softness of her stomach. Her fingers smoothed the fabric there just slightly.] Oh, this old thing? I just threw it on. [The smile lingered as her hands shifted to pick up the cards, possibly ignoring the men at the table a little too much, but the snub didn't seem to make much of a difference to any of them.] You looked like you maybe needed some company. [She finally gave an explanation for her presence, her fingers sorting through the cards and rearranging them with barely a glance.]
