Thomas unknowingly agreed. It was always good to end on a positive note with Luke, because the percentage of times their conversations ended with someone storming away was a lot higher than the alternative. Thomas got to his feet with well-practiced dignity, taking most of his weight on his left and rising with it before distributing some to his right. He moved around his desk swiftly, coming close but not too close, waiting for Luke to rise.
"Thank you for coming." A glance at the windows, which were deceptively clear, from this side of the glass. "Especially in the manner necessary." It was about as close to an apology he might come for the inconvenience.
Thomas eyed Luke's sweater, which looked a little thin for the cold weather, but he didn't comment. He put a palm behind Luke's shoulder in an extremely hesitant contact, mostly the weight of his hand, very fleeting.
