Re: AHS: Sam A & Cris M
He didn't say shit about Al or her family, and she was grateful. Not that she didn't talk about them, because she did, because she just didn't fucking care. Or she hadn't cared, until she and Tess ended up in Vegas with everyone looking at them like they were fucking aliens because their rents had sold them off like winning lotto tickets or something.
His grin cracked, and she smiled. It wasn't some smug smile, but it was knowing. She liked his smile. It came fucking easy, and she could imagine him around people he liked. That was new, easy fucking smiles. Neil had been crazy passive, and smiling wasn't his thing, and Russ was pissed too often to fucking smile. Daniel was too drunk to smile, and her family was too fucking Jersey fucked to smile, and that wasn't their fault, yeah? But she could imagine backyard bbqs when he smiled, and kids running the fucking around and screaming. She liked it, and she laughed when he pulled out the barstool, because that was some gentlemanly shit right there.
She climbed up like a girl, foot on the beam and knee first, and then she turned around and sat on her bare and dirty foot, more thigh than black fabric in the spread of her skirts. She slipped a finger under the chaste collar of her shirt. "Agua de soda, con mucho hielo," she said, all white-girl accent, and the bartender chuckled and went to fix their drinks.
"I think it's been like a month in this door? Maybe two, whatever, and some guys came to the freakshow a week after I got here. I came back down with them, and I come on weekends or whatever. Whenever I can bum a ride. During the day, before they open, they don't give a shit about shoes, papi." They didn't give a shit about anything else, if the dancing that was taking place on the floor just then was any indication.
Her water came, fizzy and cold, and she sucked on the black straw with way too much fucking pleasure. Eyes closed, and like it was the best thing to ever slip between those harlot lips. At the door, Santa Barbara raised a brow and mouthed ves?, but it was fond and she couldn't see it anyway.
"Still freaking out about not being in a crazy dream?"
