Re: In person: Erik/Charles
You're not going to get skin cancer from a few days outside, Charles. Only more freckles. [Erik never joked or teased anyone, before he met Charles. He was a solitary man bent on revenge. He went months without speaking to someone outside of looking for information. And then there was the last decade of isolation and silence, to the point where Peter's arrival was jarring and alien to him. But it was easy. Very easy.]
I doubt it would have surprised you. You're used to experiencing what other people see and feel. And I can say after a night of it, I am thankful not to be a telepath. [Erik as a telepath would have been a nightmare, which he knew very well. He was slightly grateful that Charles missed at least one of his memories, but they were not secrets from him in the first place.] I can't say any of it surprised me either. [It simply filled him with pain and regrets that weren't his in the first place.]
Stop smelling me. [His eyebrows went up, and he smirked back and sipped his coffee. There was definitely an aura of smugness.] You might know her, she used to be one of the Pulse mutants. Somehow her gifts were lost. Very smart, former CIA, we talked about you, among other things.
