Re: Bruce B/Jason T
I think sometimes people stick to white and black principles because the gray is complicated. And it's a slippery slope, there's no doubt about that. You give yourself permission once to cross a line and it's easier each time. But at the same time, life is murky. You'll have to walk a line or back and forth it a few times to get by. If we were normal people, maybe it would be easy to see it one way. But we're not.
And don't get me wrong this is not me going "go ahead and kill everyone, Jason." It's just not as simple as do or don't sometimes. I chose to turn into the Hulk to save the city not too long ago, and he killed a lot of aliens who were attacking us. Some people might say that soldiers, policemen, they can protect people with lethal force and that's all right. If the Hulk is standing between innocent people and a villain, I'm not putting a leash on him. That's probably why I'm not the leader of any groups.
I don't know Helena well, but she sounded like someone who didn't feel like she was being listened to, or that she couldn't trust anyone. That isn't a mark against any of the people in her life, because it's clear you do all care and want to be there for her. It'll just be difficult for her to believe that in her current state of mind. What do you think would've worked for you when you were in that dark place?
