[Stephanie had gone over to Gotham earlier in the morning to work on those pop-up clinics that she was planning on somehow making more permanent, leaving Eddie to his own devices for a majority of the day. She knew something was off with him, of course she did, but she figured it was in the same sort of way things were off with her. Because some days she wanted to just lock herself in a dark room and lay down or turn on the water in the shower and sit down to cry, but she tried so fucking hard to push herself not to. She couldn't get stuck in those ruts again. Not again.
So, she went to Gotham, and she came back with some things from the "farm" there and their favorite places. Food from Los Tacos, a copy of one of Eddie's favorite movies Music Man, popcorn, toys for the pets. Supplies for a quiet night in if he wanted. And if he didn't? She would more than gladly go out with him. Or do whatever he wanted. She came into the futuristic apartment with her bag full of goodies to a mess she hadn't left it in, clothes strewn and guns scattered, and that bright, blinking, obtrusive light. Curiously, she pressed the button and watching the angry alien yell for her husband. Confused, she called out:] Baby? [Dropping the bag on the table next to that light, she climbed the stairs up to their bedroom.] Eddie?
[She walked into the bedroom and spotted her husband on the bed, and her stomach lurched just a little. Softly:] Hey, you. [Leaning against the doorway.] There's a message downstairs for you.
