[Preston was in no special hurry to be inside the mansion, though it looked less intimidating now that he saw it in person. He was aware now that this city and this world was a magnet for horrible things, and if he was in the mansion or the city, it wasn't going to be possible to avoid them. So he would be here, and he'd figure out this whole mess in his head, and then he'd go back to Gatsby.
He probably wouldn't be able to stand the solitude long, but it was the short-term plan, anyway.]
Why is it called the Danger Room if it's not dangerous? [Preston's mouth twisted at one end in the first sign of the wry humor that so characterized his brand of government employee. He walked a little behind the professor's left wheel, keeping an eye behind him for no real reason. He'd be able to sense anyone coming for him.]
