Re: Quicklog: Bucky B/Sharon C
It's not fine, Carter. None of it is fine. [But Bucky didn't sound angry anymore. Or on edge the way he was before. Maybe it was a reflection on how hard this was for her, that he was sucking it up and pushing it aside. He could get wrapped up in his own head for days. There was a part of him that genuinely craved connection and for things to go two ways, he just wasn't good at doing it. But he tried.] I'm real sorry it came out like that.
[He put his hands in his jacket pockets, looking around. He didn't actually know where they were going, since he'd never been to her place, but he was good at following someone's lead.] Mine too. I kept seeing him everywhere. I kept seeing all of them everywhere. [All of Bucky's kills, but Steve obviously was the hardest. Still, Bucky managed to keep it together.] For once the brainwashing almost came in handy. I'm getting good at spotting lies my eyes are telling me. [He shrugged and looked over at her.] I'm sorry you went through that. I wish I could bring that bastard back so we could all take a hit at him.
[He never thought about looking into who killed Steve, or asking about it. He assumed it was one of their many, many villains. Probably someone Hydra or working with the Red Skull or both. He blamed Stark for it, that was pretty well known, or at least found him culpable in his own way. Bucky didn't look into it at the shop either. Whoever it was probably paid eventually, if Steve did come back.] You know you can ... I guess. Talk. You let me talk. I know I'm not the best sounding board. But. Just putting it out there.
