Re: eddie/steph - bathtime.
[Eddie knew that Stephanie was his, he didn't need the rings or the vows to tell him that. It was only that the distance between them lately had felt so real and there wasn't any moments of pure happiness. The mix was always there and he wondered if it would be forever. That even if they did adopt kids, Eddie would never have that feeling of warmth without a shadow lurking behind him. That was his biggest fear. That somehow this beautiful thing he started with Stephanie would ultimately lead him down a path of unrest.]
[He handed her a towel and then the robe before walking out of the bathroom towards the living room and the extremely well-guarded door to his server room. Eddie stopped at the door and crossed his arms dramatically.] I'm going to let you up there this one time. [He pointed at the door.] This one time. Don't take anything. Don't touch anything I tell you not to. And no taking pictures. [Eddie gave her a hard stare to make sure she'd follow the rules before unlocking the door and bringing her up to the second level of the apartment, a place she had never been before.]
[The first thing she'd feel was a sudden drop in temperature. Fans were whirring at high speeds and the entire stairway up was dark save for a few blinking green lights. There were only two rooms. One with stacks of computers and tech surrounded in webs of wires. The other was a control center. Dozens of screens that seemed to stretch up higher than the ceiling in all different shapes and sizes. It was hard to see anything beyond the glow of the screens and occasional neon riddle trophies. Certainly, this was the work of a mad man. There was only a few normal things: taped to the monitors were pictures, printed out messages and other small reminders of who he loved beyond this room. Almost all of them were of Stephanie from the moment they started falling in love to now. Eddie gestured to the chair in the middle of the tower of screens and then leaned forward over her to type and bring up the file. It popped up on the screen and he pointed at it before standing up straight and letting her open the folder herself.]
