[Liam Roberts: Narrative] Who: Liam Roberts What: A narrative Where: Marvel Door ~ pulse vicinity When: After this. Warnings/Rating: None
In venturing to the Marvel door, Liam had had every intention of finding Ben and surprising him with an impromptu visit. The only problem with that was that he didn't know precisely where the house Ben had spoke about was, and the door deposited him in the bathroom of a coffee shop that was, thankfully, unoccupied. But from there, he had little idea as to where to go, so he pulled out his phone to send something to Sam, and that's when the pulse hit.
He was on the ground before he had even registered what had happened, the back of his head throbbing horribly, and as Liam pushed himself up onto one elbow in an effort to figure out what had happened, he saw others around him in similar positions. Everyone seemed dazed, on their knees or flat on the ground, the sound of sirens in the distance as emergency responders leaped into action. The back of his head felt hot, and he reached back to touch his fingers to the sore area, blinking at the sight of blood on his fingers when he drew them back. Time wasn't running at the normal speed, everything feeling as though it was slowed down to a snail's pace, and Liam turned just in time to see a uniformed EMT crouching by his side.
The ambulance ride to Midtown Hospital was thankfully short, but the place was busier than any hospital that he had seen before. He didn't have to wait for long before he was seen, though, a quick check of his vitals, a moment of hesitation as the doctor gave him a curious look, and then the gash at the back of his head was stitched up and he was given an ice pack to hold to it. A few quick instructions to come back if he developed any dizziness and Liam was released, still dazed, his body feeling as though it was vibrating on a different frequency than it had before.
His thoughts went towards Ben, towards what was supposed to be a surprise, and then he had his phone out to make a call.
