Re: In Person: Selina/Dickie/Stephie
[Selina moved forward when Dickie motioned, and she watched him crouch, a feeling of dread in her stomach that actually managed to eclipse absolutely everything else for a split-second. There was nothing but this moment, and she could feel the blood rushing in her ears as she listened to Dickie explain something that absolutely couldn't be okay, no matter how he said it, no matter how he tried to say it. Still, he tried so hard, and part of the dampness that collected in the corner of her bloodshot eyes was for him, for what he was doing to his sister just now, and for the fact that there was no alternative.
And then Steph shook her head, cried, and that no, no, no, you're lying made Selina's heart break. When the little bat in purple wobbled to her feet, Selina moved closer, and she brushed the tears from her own eyes and focused. Eddie would want Steph safe, and that's what she told herself as she steeled herself against what was happening.
Steph feinted left and went right, and Selina pulled the blonde into a hug that wasn't optional. A pounce, really, back against the wall and all the strength from that epinephrine shot going into holding the little blonde bat against her.] It's okay, Steph. It's not him. Alright? It's not him.
[There was fierce conviction in the words she didn't actually believe. Ra's was her nightmare; of course Eddie was dead.] He's FINE, kitten. [And she tried to meet Dickie's blue eyes with a silent now. Do it now.]
