Re: In-person: Clark/Lois
[There was no time for Lois I am not trying to scoop you. And Lois stop yelling at the man with the gun. And Lois stop talking about badge numbers right in front of the clearly evil police officer. There also wasn't any time to complain that Batman wasn't answering his calls. Or that he hadn't heard it all from the Justice League.
There also wasn't time to talk Lois out of e-mailing the picture to the Planet or the Gazette.
Why?
Why you might ask?
Because Lois Lane was about to get herself shot.
Faster than a speeding bullet was not just an expression. It was true. And despite the bad timing and the terrible things going on outside, and the fact that he was trying to have a secret identity - Lois was about to get shot.
So he did what he did best and moved in front of her, in a blur of green plaid and tweed. Arms, that probably seemed much bigger than he tried to look, and no longer even trying to slouch "a bit" he practically engulfed his entire body around her. He supposed the bullet hit him and probably the second one too. He wasn't quite at the point of trying to figure out how he was getting at this one because he heard the trigger pulling again and - just as quickly he pulled away and - sorry Lois - pushed her (gently-ish) to the ground and took zero time, literally zero time, to disarm and incapacitate the very badly behaved officer of the law.
And then he turned around to look at Lois. He wasn't out of breath. But his glasses and his hair were a bit askew. He held his hand out silently to help her up.]
