lily evans & severus snape; dungeon
[Severus had found a corner of the common room to hole up in, book spread over his lap, quill tapping thoughtfully at his lips as he considered what was written. He had found that he quite disliked the attention he had been receiving since students had started to arrive, the looks they gave him when they found out his name, and if Severus had been a loner before, now he was positively a hermit. But still, studies had to be completed, and he wasn't about to ignore them.
The room was empty other than himself, so when the knock to the door came, he was the only one to tend to it. For a moment, he considered simply ignoring it, letting whomever was on the other side leave whenever they were ready, but when no further knocks came, his curiosity got the best of himself. So he hauled himself up to his feet, robes spreading out with the movement, and then there was a tug to the door to peer out.
Whomever he had been expecting, it hadn't been Lily Evans. For a moment, Severus didn't say anything, his chin lifting slightly before he ducked his head, eyes to the ground.] Yes?
