That's because you're looking at it through a rear view mirror. You're catching up with newsreels, and history books. That's not where you're going to find bright spots. But if you can see how much good can be done, and if you look for it you can even see good going on right now in the middle of a tragedy of epic proportions - we're doing all right. But there is always room for improvement.
I think that people need to be calmed down, and understand that mutants aren't the enemy. And I think there are some mutants who are going to need to be calmed down as well. No one wants to feel as if they're being targeted. It breeds fear. And sometimes with good reason.
