Re: log, Manhattan: Sharon C/Steve R
[Part 2 - whoops]
Before she could approach the man who lay dying, she saw his eyes spring open and his body jerk upright. She paused and took one step back. Blue eyes that were once bright and friendly were glassed over in an milky white film and the fresh blood from his torso had turned rust colored in an instant. He was getting up then, standing upright tall and strong but his skin was pallid, almost a dingy yellow like a once white motel room that had seen too many cigarettes and not enough cleanings. He started moving toward her - faster than she thought he would be capable of given that the man was dead. He had anger and betrayal on his face and she knew. She looked down into her hand after noticing the heavy weight of something there, it was black and SHIELD issue, the gun she held and she knew that she'd killed Steve.
She was screaming as Steve moved closer, or she thought he was moving closer, other agents were beginning to notice and - Sharon was in fact holding her gun - they began to descend on the woman who was pulling a gun at a quarantine site, and it was clear they wondered if she was pulling it on Captain America or not. Sharon saw nothing of the chaos around her, only an angry and hurt (and quite dead) Steve Rogers moving toward her, asking her why, She screamed apologies in his direction even as the agents in the vicinity started pulling their guns on her and calling for someone to subdue her or for her to drop the gun entirely.
The only people who weren't moving to try and stop here with the twenty-five agents waiting for Captain America to tell them what to do - all of them guessing what it would end up being, so they were getting into cars and getting ready to move.
