Re: Drinks: Selina/Dick
Bruce is quiet, and he doesn't know what to say half the time. You know, where he's from, he locked himself up for nearly a decade because Joe killed the woman he loved. And then he left Gotham altogether and ran away to Italy with some version of me. [She shrugged narrow shoulders.] He's not the Bat any of us grew up with, but he's a better man. Just get to know the man, Dickie, and forget the cowl. [And she had to scoff when he said he was an awful boyfriend.] Fingerstripes? The fact that we're having this conversation means you're not an awful boyfriend. Far from it.
[She took a sip of her new drink, and she knew this was going to take her from buzzed to completely drunk, but she so didn't care at the moment.] We were stuck with zombies for weeks. It made us miss home, but he left Iris in Italy, which is bad. I keep waking up and expecting him to be fwoom [sound effect and everything] gone from the couch.
[She shook her head when he mentioned all the things he could do.] You're Dick Grayson. You do what you think is right. If you want a job, get a job. If you want the stripes, go back to the stripes. If you want the cowl, keep the cowl. What you don't do? Is something you'll just resent her for eventually. [Her voice softened.] You're going to be a wonderful dad, Dickie. The best, and whatever happens with you and Babs doesn't change that. And you know what? Any kid would be lucky to be raised in your family.
