Re: In-person: Teddy/Vic
[Right side up, and Teddy opened his eyes. He lifted his head, and through the untended flop of sloe-black hair, he saw the cottage. He'd known it would be there, before he even opened his eyes. Known because of the briney taste in the air and the whisper of grounded waves rejoining the sea.
This was the lonely and beautiful setting of a summer spent with her. That perfect summer when nobody had known how he'd felt about Victoire except for Victoire. The weeks before they'd gotten careless, so giddy and drunk on love that they didn't think anybody would care. How wrong they'd been. There'd still been a happily ever after then, or at least an illusion of one. Nights spent walking the beach with her after everyone else was asleep. Love notes written in the sand, evidence washed away in the waves by morning.
The last of their innocence had belonged in that summer. After Bill had told him to stay away, it was gone. It'd become tainted somehow, but Teddy still hadn't been able to bear letting it go. So they'd resorted to secrets, and even if he didn't know how it'd all ended, secrets hadn't been enough. It'd gotten ruined anyway, apparently.]
Should I.. be here? [The question was skeptical, and his stormy eyes watched the front of the cottage with a bit of apprehension. Because coming here had been the last thing he'd expected. If she'd wanted to throw him in a dragon pit, he might have gone willingly, but this...] Is your family here? [He slowly withdrew his hand from hers, wondering if he was to soon be cursed by the emergence of a furious father.]
