Re: Log: Iris/Hatter
Things were very simple to Wonderland and to Hatter in particular. They could be impossibly complicated too, depending on the definition, because things rarely made sense too. They could talk circles around everyone, their minds went in directions normal humans couldn't keep up with. In general humans confused Hatter, they seemed bundles of concerns and anxieties that made no sense to him. They worried too much. He lived with a human in his head and it was awful, all that darkness and swirl of uncertainty.
Iris looked good though, he wondered what that door was, it wasn't the other door, he knew that. She might have heavy skirts and worried eyes, but the darkness was lessened. Her laugh was delightful, his smile and eyes brightening with the discovery of it. He would probably bend over backward to keep getting that out of her. Humans didn't do well in Wonderland if they stayed too long, but visits were okay, and maybe Iris would be different. She thought like him, she understood his rambling, maybe she was made of more Wonderland than she thought, like Alice.
He tilted his head curiously when she said it helped, being anchored. "I've got an actual anchor! Somewhere. You can hold onto that." He was teasing her, but he was also being truthful, there was probably one of those somewhere on his property. Dark eyes met hers squarely, and they were lucid, or as lucid as possible from him. Hatter smiled and kissed her knuckles affectionately. "Come on then."
He twirled her, like that first time they met, and put his arm around her waist while gesturing in the direction of the Wonderland door. They both knew where it was now. "Iris iris iris, what are you running from?" Curious.
