Re: Great Gatsby: Jude/Clem/Shane/Graham
The horse bellowed, the master in danger, and she stormed in then. She was fast, she was unearthly, she was Hell. Vicious teeth, the black swirling around its skin as if something underneath was roaring to get out. She was making a sound, and then it was there, teeth gnashing, ready to feed, ready to enjoy what came now. Fast, and in front of the men, rearing and biting and tearing at anything that tried to move around her. As injured as they were, one wrong move would mean little to her. It meant food. Flesh.
Instead it gave the siblings time to talk, and Jude felt the blood dripping, but it meant little. The gesture meant everything. One inhuman brush of his hand and he gripped her wrist, and the fingers dug in. And his touch might've been gentle once, but it burned now, it had the power to drain and suck life away. He was Famine, and Famine fed off the wasting away of humanity. There was a decision to make, and it took thinking. He could slaughter them all and go about his day. Right now, the blood running would be delicious, it would be deserved.
"You listen to me," he said and his voice was death calling. "You bring them here. You threaten me. You threaten me. I loved you. I became this for you." And the eyes were cold, but the voice was sharp. The boy within who loved her more than life itself was dying, and it was good, it was so good. "You are no kin of mine. You are nothing to me now." His burning hand sucked, it loved every second. "You are dead to me, Clementine. If you step foot in this door again, if any of them do, I will know. And I will enjoy draining every last drop of your life."
And just like that, he tossed her away from him, trash to be forgotten. His eyes turned to the men, his horse rearing in pleasure. "You aimed for the wrong Murphy that day, Shane. It was her idea to murder your sister. I planned on blackmail or something of a less fatal degree. She said Chloe wanted her dead, and that was how we'd get Chloe her man, and I should handle the shooting. My ideas for the murder she brushed aside and supported her own. She betrayed her family, and she will betray the rest of you when a better deal comes along, I'd keep it in mind if I were you."
Jude turned on his heel and the horse stopped snarling. She followed her master, a shield for his back, but he was unafraid. He had work to do, and the last thing holding his back was gone. So be it. Their lives were given, and no one would stop them from going. No more time needed to be wasted.
