Re: Batcave: Bruce B, Gwen S (Carnage)
"Of course it matters," Bruce argued sharply. "Everything matters, Jason. You matter, your family matters, the people who love you matter. That thing you're bonded with, it's going to take you away from all of it. And I refuse to believe that's what you want." The grin didn't bother him, there wasn't an inch of fear in the frazzled looking scientist. He kept himself between Carnage and Gwen, stealing the main focus, giving her time to protect herself or contact the others. "Special? We're a danger to everyone around us, same as you. This isn't you, this was what you were made into. You don't control it, because if you were in control, you would never hurt her."
Bruce wasn't stupid enough to fully trust him in this form, so his hand was snatched back quickly. And then he growled. It was low and warning, a sound that another hunter would recognize well, and if Jason wouldn't hear words, maybe Carnage would hear threats. His calm gaze turned neon green, and despite that, he seemed even. His skin wasn't green, just the eyes, but his body language was bigger, broader, ready to burst. He wasn't thinking about what an altered version of his powers might show up as, because this was barely the beginning, and it was a suicidal creature that threatened the Hulk. Juiced up or not.
"I won't hurt you, but he will. He doesn't care what body you're in." Especially not now, chomping at the bit. If anything, he thought it would be helpful if the symbiote attempted to leave Jason to pick him. Bruce was positive, beyond any question, that it wouldn't win that fight. But he would have little reason to leave such a welcoming host. "If you really think you're in control, you can make the choice. Stop here, let us help you."
