Re: Batcave: Bruce B, Gwen S (Carnage)
Carnage wasn't the only beast that liked to play with his food, so to speak. Bruce's was chained up tight, but the symbiote knew as well as Jason did it was in there. For now, he looked harmless, and that was the way he wanted to be. If they had any chance of talking Jason down and finding a better solution, they were going to take it. His heart went out to that injured boy deep within the alien, who accused him of lying and said he couldn't be fixed. "I know," he said softly. "I haven't given up, I'm still going to look for it, I didn't lie."
He gave an irritated flick of his hand at Gwen behind him, move along already and get that phone, since his brothers might have an even better chance than they did. Although her solidarity angle was a legitimate one. "She's right. We're all damaged. But you know what that makes us, right? Stronger. Survivors. Because we haven't let our handicaps define us. Or control us." Bruce's other hand reached out, plaintive, toward Jason. He kept his eyes level, his voice calm. "Remember what I told you at my apartment? You're still you, and we'll get through this. I told you that anyone who thinks differently about you because of this would answer to me. And that includes you. You just have to let us help you."
