Re: Batcave: Bruce B, Gwen S (Carnage)
"I know that. I told him that too. I thought he understood. Maybe I shouldn't have told him." Bruce had the ability to lie, and he knew at the time it might be the safer option. But it wasn't in him to lie to a friend, not when it was something so important to them. And there was no way for him to continue to research for solutions if Jason didn't know. They were supposed to keep trying, and he knew there was likely no cure. But management? He'd managed with the Lazarus all this time.
He had that concern too, and neither of them voiced it. "We'll get it." Bruce tapped his pencil on his papers, a nervous tic he had when he was thinking. "Did you see the cage we designed for Loki? That's a stupid question, of course you didn't." He rubbed a hand through his hair. "I voluntarily went into it for a short time, in case it could hold the Hulk too. It's possible we could use it to contain Carnage, while we get the suit working on him." They needed to trap him, since there was no way to beat him down without too much risk involved.
He sighed, and understood, because so did he. "People can be trustworthy in some areas, but not in others. Some fears of theirs goes beyond trust." He spoke from experience, in a lot of ways. He smiled a little at her snark about the family. "They're ... difficult, yes. They care deeply for one another, but they fight constantly."
