This was stupid. Bruce knew it was stupid. It was reckless and dangerous. It was the worst possible idea for him, considering his anger issues, and it was already there. It was already burning. It wasn't just sex that was a bad idea for him, emotions were dangerous, he knew they were, he knew it was smarter for him to never be involved with someone to the point where he was this on edge. But some part of him felt like he could handle it, because the last time was violent, and he kept it together. He would never hurt her, despite being angry, despite being hurt himself. He had faith in that, or maybe he was willing to roll the dice. He was itching for a fight, and no amount of zen and calming teas was going to help. Maybe sex would. During the wedding, Bruce was polite, even friendly for him. He was the definition of mild mannered and shy. He tried not to let it show how upset he was that Selina disappeared with Wayne. He tried not to think about it later, when she didn't contact him, when hours went by and he pictured them having sex and running off together. Maybe he would have been able to control their conversation if she didn't start it out with that accusation about Harley. It set him off, boiling under the surface. Then there was the pushing and aggression and it wasn't hard to convince him to get to this point. He definitely didn't want to pat her on the head. He wanted to yell. That was bad. This was all bad. What was he doing? What he literally was doing was pacing around his lab. After his last message to her he closed his tablet, not sure if she replied again, and not caring. Bruce was in his purple shirt again, he still had so few of them, with the sleeves pushed up to his elbows, and his hair the usual mess. He undid the watch on his wrist and put it down on the desk, because it made his skin crawl at the moment. What an idiot he was, wearing that, showing it off, thinking it meant something. Inside the wedding talking to people about her like there was something to talk about, when she was outside begging Bruce Wayne to run off with her. He unlocked the window and lifted it up so she could come in if/when she got there. Stupid, stupid idea. |
